Ter Beke is a Belgian food group specializing in the development, production and sale of fresh ready meals and processed meats. In 1948 Frans Coopman established a small processed meats factory in Waarschoot, which expanded into a leading international fresh food group, known for its high-quality products and customer focus. Since 1994, in addition to processed meats, Ter Beke has been producing fresh ready meals. At the end of 2007, they represented 35 % of the total sales. Ter Beke has grown into the market leader in fresh lasagne in Europe. Ter Beke has a total of eleven factories. TerBeke-Pluma, the processed meats division of the group, has five production sites in Belgium (Wommelgem, Waarschoot, Marche-en-Famenne, Herstal and Ruiselede), and five centres for slicing and packaging processed meats, including two in Belgium (Wommelgem and Veurne) and 3 in the Netherlands (Milsbeek, Ridderkerk and Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht). FreshMeals, the fresh ready meals division of the group, operates two production sites in Belgium (Wanze and Marche-en-Famenne) and one in France (Alby-sur-Chéran in the Haute Savoie). In 2007 the group recorded a turnover of 366.7 million EUR, a net profit of 6.1 million EUR and a net cash flow of 25.1 million EUR. Ter Beke sells its products in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Switzerland, Spain, Denmark, the Czech Republic and Portugal. The group markets its products under the consumer brands Come a casa (fresh ready meals) and l´Ardennaise (processed meats), as well as the distribution brands Vamos (fresh ready meals) and Daniël Coopman (processed meats). Ter Beke attaches great importance to rapidly developing and updating its products.
